MySpace Example

I found a great example on MySpace to illustrate the low cost of entry for "regular" people to e-commerce markets.

It's a MySpace page for a new, young band, check it out at:
myspace.com/ladyantebellum

I've been discussing it as a segue between Chapter 7 (Business Concepts of E-Commerce) and Chapter 8 (Technology of E-Commerce). You can bring in several different related IS concepts:
  • business use of MySpace (and similar sites)
  • Web 2.0 and social networking trends.
  • technologies behind MySpace.
  • levels of IT knowledge (little needed to use MySpace to lots needed for a more dynamic but more customized site.
On a personal note, one of the members of this band is a former MIS major of ours at UGA!

This looks great. Re using example after chapter 7...this puts it in the biz-partner layer. I could also see this in the individual layer. Do you cover MySpace there as well in some way?
